I am not sure where this thread should fall, I searched alot and couldnt find a simular thread, or where it would fit in best.

My complaint / recomendation is to fix the time of a hex and what not on a boss. I have done many quests, and have noticed how little time conditions and hexes last on a boss...

Example: Thunder Head Keep... boss down in center... I did the mission for the umpteenth time yesterday (one of my favorites) and timed my SS, should have lasted well over 10 secs, but didnt last for even 5 seconds on boss... I have seen this many other places and am curious if Bosses all are set for Conditions and Hexes to last only half the normal time, while their enchantments and energy pool seem to be bottomless?

And no, I was waiting to interupt him, he did nothing to remove his hex, and noone else was alive on the "red dot force"...

Any Ideas?

Its supposed to be like that. They are stronger. I can't say any other reason besides they are bosses and stronger.

Anyways...if they removed it, a boss would just be something with a higher level and a glowy aura...whats the point of him being a boss then?

Should probably be under Questions and answers", but all bosses wear a Henge of Denravi Helmet so to speak :P

All hexes (and conditions) get their time reduced by 50%, making a few hexes useless, and them "harder" to beat.

And some monsters seem to have unlimited energy (Holy Wrath on Azuire Shadows, Mursaat Monk boss can't be drained it seems), a lot of bosses as well.

Oh, and some bosses (and a few normal monsters) get 2 copies of spells as well (Double Orison of Healing, etc.).

Pretty sure both of these are myths.

And both could be tested with the help of a few Mesmers and Rangers.

How does holy wrath make them have unlimited energy...besides that they only use signets, and holy wrath doesnt end if you cant pay the upkeep....

Ok, i can see the helm of devari thing... but its only 33% on the helm, not 50%... Why the quick recovery from anything... and my powerblock on my mesmer.. suppose to be 15 seconds... lasts about 3 seconds on most enemies.... and there is no way to remove that...

All this is doing is confusing ppl when they go from playing all pve to some pvp.. cause they dont realize the true power of certain skills...

You know how hard it is to get on a team if ur running power block? very awsome skill yet no teams ask for it... what else can turn off all healing on a monk for 15 secs? people would rather see blackout, which i am quite tired of....

its called "Natural resistance" and all bosses have it and the guild lord has it in GVG. Hexes last 50% their normal time and conditions as well.

Yes this can be abused to your advantage with things like wastrel's worry and parasitic bond but what i think it does more overall is encrouage the use of only direct damage classes vs a mesmer or curse necro. All hexes get a nerf on bosses but no physical damage does???

This part of the game further discourages PvE mesmers and should be looked at for change in the future

That's the thing, Holy Wrath doesn't end, and when using Energy Burn/Surge, they don't take damage nor do they lose energy...

Go outsde Camp Rankor with a few Henchies, kill the Blessed Griffons and have them wack at a few Azuire Shadows. After a while, they'll have 0 EN but Holy Wrath is still there. Holy Wrath ends if they die or it gets stripped, it doesn't end if they have no energy.

Monsters do get extra copies of skills. I've used distracting shot on enemies and then they recast the same skill right away.

Bingo. This is the main skill you need (other than maybe an interrupt) when facing a boss.

My N/Me has a personal love affair with this super-short-on-bosses hex.

wrong, bosses have higher armor than normal too, much higher.

ok, other then Wastrels Worry and Phantom pain... only 2 u want shorter... consider, Energy Block, Blackout, Backfire, SS, Suffering, Disease, Bleeding, Poison, Migrain, Arc Con, Crip Anguish, Imaged Burden...... and there r more, but its late and im tired... hahaha.....

Point is is that from that list, you can see how many mesmer skills and necro skills are pretty useless against bosses and such... i feel some consideration should be given....

This is a major factor as to why so few ppl use mesmers, or even look for them in some parties....

Now, if we were up against a boss, and that had some special thing that reset ur skills faster or something...

Another thing i love, this senario "ur with party, fire islands, all phantoms are hitting the warrior or such... ur just wanding away... then u think, oh, i will cast a 1 second skill with fast cast at 12..... and blam! ur interupte out of no where!!!! and they all continue to attack as normal...." WTF??????
You try interupting a 3/4 sec skill with ur fast cast at 12 in any arena, and u have a slim chance... yet they targeted you and cast their interupt in time to block ur skill in pve...

Hmm... I was pretty sure blackout and power block aren't effected by boss aura. As they don't have a hex icon when they are in effect.

Also, if someone hasn't mentioned Wastrel's Worry... Yeah, max domination and spam that mother trucker out there and you've got boss for breakfast.

This is absurd. And the first time I've ever even heard that. If you really heard that in game, then you need to rethink who you are playing with.

Theres nothing wrong with bosses. They are BOSSES. They are supposed to be harder.

Er, right.

Echo -> Arcane Thievery -> Arcane Thievery -> Drain Enchantment -> Wastrel's Worry spam.

Dead Mursaat Monk boss in under twenty seconds.

Unlike ordinary conditions and hexes, Arcane Thievery seems to last the full 37 seconds (at Domination 16) on bosses. The only time that it might take longer than 20-30 seconds to kill Coventina or Willa is when I snag Purge Conditions twice, instead of Aura of Faith and/or Orison of Healing.

It's not a myth...use Disrupting Chop on Wroth Yakslapper to interrupt his Orison Of Healing, and he'll use it again almost immediately.

If you look close in their skill descriptions you'll see something like

Orison of Healing (Spell)
Orison of Healing (Skill - Monster Only)

or something like that anyways..i forget the details.
